ABOUT HATEM
I’m Hatem, an Emmy-winning motion designer and Oscar-nominated art director, but first and foremost a visual storyteller. Born in Tunisia, raised in Paris, and now based in Los Angeles, I carry a deep sensitivity to culture, light, and the human soul.
Since childhood, I’ve been mesmerized by what drives human beings. I’m moved by people the same way I’m moved by nature, by a lake at dawn, a mountain in silence, the texture of skin in the light, a glance, a gesture, the hidden emotions behind a smile. I’m drawn to the details and to what they reveal: the sacred, the hearts, souls, behaviors, contradictions, tenderness, the quiet mystery and vulnerabilities inside each person.
What drives my art is a profound love for the human soul, and the acceptance, for what is. I create visual narratives that reveal a simple truth we often forget: we are already connected. Beneath the noise, the roles, and the separations, there is a shared thread, something cosmic, something sacred, that can be felt when an image is capable to cut through the mask or the persona.
For more than two decades, I’ve used concept, light, composition, and movement to translate that wonder into cinematic frames. I worked across 3D, VFX, and motion design, and I embrace new tools, including AI, especially when they submit and serve the story. Technology is never a source of fascination to me; it’s the subconscious language. The point is always human feelings and profound emotions.
I love building worlds and crafting visuals with profound soul, but my deepest ambition is to direct and work with humans at the center, collaborating with actors and crews to capture something real, never seen before. Beauty,to me,is not another decoration or trend. It’s truth, love and the cosmos made visible at the same time.
